Match Play 21

Match Play 21 is a very interesting Blackjack variant, offering a great level of excitement and thrill that will get you both entertained and thinking for hours. In Match Play 21, 10's are removed from the deck and special hands have special payouts, with the highest payout being 'Match Play 21'. It is definitely a game for all ages and for players seeking to put theirs skills to the test.

Matchplay 21 is another variation of blackjack that was initially found in online casinos. It has recently begun to appear in brick-and-mortar casinos and is gaining popularity among blackjack players.

• MATCH PLAY 21 STRATEGY TABLE. Match Play 21 is Real Time Gaming's name for Spanish Blackjack. The game has many rule differences from traditional blackjack. A summary of rules is below. Note that re-doubling is not allowed in RTG Match Play 21.

How to Play:

In Online Match Play 21, the dealer's cards are dealt with one card face-up and the other card face-down. To win a hand, the player's hand must be valued greater than the dealers at the end of the game. Your goal is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. During the game you will have the option to hit, stand, double or split during your turn, as long as the value of your hand has not exceeded 21. To get a Match Play 21, the highest payout, you need to have three 7 cards of the same suit and the dealer's face up card must also a 7 card. This hand pays 40:1.

Game Controls:

On the table game you will be able to see 5 casino chips laid out on the border. Their values are $1, $5, $25, $100, and $500. Depending on the size of your playable bankroll, you will be able to select the amount you would like to bet on each hand by clicking on those chips. If you would like to bet $30 on your next hand, you would simply click the $25 chip once, and then click the $5 chip 1 time to bring the total chip count placed in the betting (ante) box to $30. To remove chips from your bet, simply click on the chips already placed in the betting box and they will be removed and placed back in your bankroll.
(NOTE: you can only remove chips from your bankroll before you have dealt the hand. Once the deal starts, all bets are final.)
There are 5 circular control buttons below the table that are labeled Split, Double, Stand, Hit, and Deal. Below is a brief description of what will happen when you use each of these buttons.
Split: You can use the split option any time when the value of your first two cards dealt is of equal value. Once you split, each of your two matching cards will be separated and the dealer will deal two more cards to you, one on top of each of the other matching cards. Your wager amount will be doubled (the game will automatically move an amount equal to your initial ante from your bankroll to the table) and you will now have two playable hands in front of you. You can then play each hand as a normal Blackjack hand, hitting and standing, unless the cards split were Aces. In that case, you will only be allowed one hit before the game will automatically move on.
Double: You can use the double option once per hand in Match Play 21, and only immediately after the deal. When you choose the double option, the amount of your ante will automatically be doubled and you will be dealt one more card. The game will continue without allowing you any other options once this card is dealt.
Stand: Press this button to play the hand you are holding. Once you stand on a hand, you will not be allowed any other options and your hand will remain in play as is, awaiting the final results of the table for that game.
Hit: When you hit you are asking the dealer for another card to be dealt to you.

Match Play Blackjack

Deal: The button starts the game, once the deal button is pressed, the game gets started and all bets are on.
Insurance: The insurance option in the game of Match Play 21 will be offered to you whenever the dealer is showing an Ace as his face-up card at the point of the deal. If you decide to take the insurance bet, you are betting another half the value of your ante that the dealer will have Blackjack (21). If you win the bet and the dealer does have Blackjack, you will double your insurance bet and lose your initial ante, making the total result a push. If you are wrong and the dealer does not have Blackjack, you will lose the insurance bet and continue to play with your ante still on the table. Choose this option to protect yourself from losing to a Blackjack.
Surrender: You may surrender at any time and get half of your current bet. You can also surrender for each hand after a split.
Rules Tab: The rules button is displayed on the left-hand side of the table and offers the basic rules of the game.
Cashier Button: The cashier button will take you to the casino cashier where you can make deposits and request withdrawals, to redeem bonus coupons and view your account history.

Blackjack Tip 1: Following house rules is a great strategy for a Match Play 21 beginner. The dealer will always stand on a hand of 17 or better and hit on a hand of 16 or lower, while never making any additional bets like doubling, splitting, or insurance. This playing strategy is the major reason for the house edge. If you follow these same rules, you keep the edge to a minimum and increase your chances of winning.
Blackjack Tip 2: Do not split 10's in Match Play 21. While the idea of getting two hands of 20 may sound appealing, the risk is much greater than the possible reward.
Blackjack Tip 3: It does not matter what card the dealer shows, always double down with a Match Play 21 hand of 10 when dealer is showing a 9 or lower and always double down with a hand of 11. You Win When

If your hand is better than the dealer hand without going over 21, then you collect. But, if you go over 21, the dealer takes it all. There are also some special payouts to be noted:

2:1 Payout on the First Hand

When you win, you double your bet—its as simple as that. Bet it all and you’ll double your bankroll in case you win. You also get a 2:1 payout with three 7’s suited, 6,7 and 8 suited or 6 cards in your hand that equal 21.

3:1 Payouts on Special Hands

If you get three 7’s of Spades or a 6,7 and 8 of Spades then you get a 3:1 payout. You also will see your money triple if you get 7 cards in your hand that ass up to 21.

3:2 Payouts on Special Hands

Any time you get three 7’s or a 6,7 and 8 combination (mixed suits) of 5 cards in a hand that equal 21, you can celebrate a 3:2 payout on your initial bet.
